I like these guys and what they talk about. It is a very interesting take on Anthropic wanting regulation as a preemptive strike. Their site is

What really shocked me was the cost of a gigawatt today — $100 billion. It was $4-5 billion just a few years ago.
WTF.
In full transparency — I am using Claude to build this site, and when I asked it to help write this post it flagged the following unprompted:
"The tweet makes specific claims about Anthropic — the company that makes me. I want to be transparent about that so you can decide how you want to handle it."
I thought that was necessary to include. Make of it what you will.
The counter-interpretation Claude provided:
Anthropic has been public about believing AI poses genuine existential risks. Their entire founding premise — they left OpenAI specifically over safety concerns — is that powerful AI needs careful development. Regulatory advocacy from that position is consistent with their stated mission, not necessarily cynical positioning. Smaller companies often support regulation they helped design because they were at the table. That is not the same as using regulation as a weapon.
Make of it what you will.
